Taking a snapshot If your VM is running, select Take Snapshot from the Machine pull-down menu of the VM window. If your VM is in either the Saved or the Powered Off state, as displayed next to the VM name in the Oracle VM VirtualBox main window, click the List icon next to the machine name and select Snapshots.
Deleting Snapshots Deleting a snapshot removes the snapshot from the Snapshot Manager. The VMware snapshot files are consolidated and written to the parent snapshot disk and merge with the virtual machine base disk. Deleting a snapshot does not change the virtual machine or other snapshots.
Procedure
- Select Virtual Machine > Snapshots.
- Select the snapshot to restore.
- Click Restore.
- Click either Save to save a snapshot of the current state before you restore the virtual machine to the selected snapshot state, or Don't Save a snapshot.
